TAPESTRIES
AUBUSSON, THE TAPESTRY CAPITAL
Aubusson is a name known throughout the world. From the tapestries of the Middle Ages, which covered the walls of lordly manors for protection from the cold, to the hanging created for the glory of the Olympic Games in 2000, the marvellous know-how of the Aubusson loom setters has transcended the centuries to create in today’s tapestries a contemporary means of artistic expression.
