THE BERNARD BATTU WHORKSHOP

Employed from 1971 to 1990 in prestigious weaving studios, Bernard Battu has woven for the greatest artists. In 1990 he created his own studio as an artisan loom setter and oriented his work towards the weaving of tapestries in extremely limited numbers, unique in fact.
For the first time, in 2001, Bernard Battu created a tapestry based upon a painting by the artist Alain Thomas.

"For this first tapestry of Alain Thomas, the difficulty came in respecting, with the closest draughtsmanship possible, the very fine painting of this artist whose sense of detail is carried out to the extreme." - Bernard Battu
